We decided to work with Royal Pools because of a very experienced and knowledgeable designer and salesman named Dan Balcazar. We had met with a number of companies and checked out as much as we could on the internet and are extremely happy with our decision. Dan promised us that he would stay with us throughout the whole process and was there to be our guide. I seriously doubted him because of our previous experience, but let me tell you, he was with us every step of the way. He would answer any question that we had and if he didn't have the answer, he would immedietly find someone who did!

Let me tell you now: This is one of the best experiences we have ever had and I will be posting much gratitude and kudos to all those involved.

Thank you Dan, you are the best! Dan walked us through the designing of the pool. We had to change it from the original but we did have the hole pretty much dug up. Everything would need to be excavated. We wanted to swap where the deep end was and add many more features. Royal Pools has no less that 6 outflows and 2 skimmers per pool. We found our shape and where we wanted the plumbing and the electrical. We still needed to pick out the tiles and coping. We went to the Royal Pools Office in San Jose for that. We also got to see their lovely onsite pool, which helped us make decisions. Dan met us on a Sat. which helped us greatly

Our Choices

Royal Pools took care of everything: scheduling, all contractors, contracts, payment schedules, permits, inspectors etc. We think they are called Royal Pools because they treat their customers like Royalty!

Out with the old and in with the new. First thing Royal Pools did was clear out the old. Our old pool became a bog of polliwogs and they sent out a clean up crew to have it ready for the foreman and excavaters. Our Forman was the incredible Brian Miller. You couldn't ask for a more helpful and knowlegeable man. We had originally designed the pump area far from the pool, we also had some other issues regarding electric and plumbing also. A very important item was the keylock for the automatic Pool Cover. Brian sorted that all out and helped us detail our plans and he started out with the excavator team.

Clean Up!

The morning of DAY ONE, my son (4) heard the tractors. He had to get all dressed up like "Bob The Builder" and come tell me he was ready! Lil guy did this all on his own and delighted us to say the least. Royal Pools and their endless crews and contractors were wonderful with our children, teaching them and showing them everything along the way. A delightful experience.

I like to call this one "The Plaster Dance"

Alberto's Concrete

Alberto's was our choice for concrete and again we we blessed with the best! Fast, quality and customer service beyond words. Albert, (Alberto's son) walked us through every step of the way. We had chosen stamped concrete and he brought all of them out for us to compare as well as color charts etc. They have done much fancier pools and you can view some samples of stamped concrete online. We chose a more earthy color to blend with our natural environment. I forgot to make allowance for drainage (we have a sizeable hill besides the pool,) and Albert took care of all of it, graded it, put drainage in and did it all for no extra cost. I chose to cut some corners and make the deck 3 ft instead of 4 in some areas and Albert created a small curb for me in exchange. They worked so well with us, we were only limited by our imagination. I recommend Alberto's for all of your concrete needs. They are of the utmost quality for a minimum budget. Thank you Albertos!

Sala Brothers Water Trucking

The heros of the Year Award goes to...... Sala Brothers!!

Imagine if you will: One year ago in the heat of Summer, the pool breaks. We are out of water for days because the well broke, all the men of the house were away at a men's conference and we still had a baby in diapers. This year, our family of 8+ (depending on who comes home on any given weekend.) was again without water, temperatures reaching 107o F wanted nothing more than to enjoy our brand newly plastered pool. We sat up on the new decking and watched lightning fill the skys only to find out later that it started fires surrounding us everywhere (a record 100.) The sky was already filled with smoke from the Santa Cruz fires. We needed to fill the pool consistantly until completely full and we were using our well, and umm 3 days later, it was still not filled, pumping best it can at a few drops a minute..we had no water now in the house for days, bringing in bottled water. We had 3 adults, 2 teens and 3 little ones plus our 20yr old. All of the available water, trucks etc were going to the fires. We called for 2 days, everywhere we could and Sala Brothers came through! They not only trucked in water but they came into the late hours of the evening and back again in the wee hours of the morning. They were booked solid so they came in their sleep alotted time. A shower never felt so good. Our true heros Sala Brothers!!
