One BIG way the SMALL community can help the whole.

In the hopes of saving local libraries from closing, a devoted mother’s appreciation for reading and her love of children prompts the release of her long-awaited children’s book The Golden Key,

The Golden Key is an inspirational children’s book geared to unlocking the imaginations of children between the ages of 3 and 7.

The illustration will be done entirely (sans cover) by her 6 year old son Jose and his Kindergarten class at Steinbeck Elementary School .

The author of the book, Michele Luccketta, known as “shell”, is an amazing artist and children’s advocate. Her home is filled with six beautiful children that her family fostered and adopted, just this year!

Every child, upon entering her home, is taken to the Steinbeck Library to acquire their first library card and to be exposed to the wonderful world of imagination and education through reading. She started this trend 20 years ago with her biological daughter and instilled within her a passion for reading that has followed her through her life.

What good is a library card when they close the libraries down?

Every dime from sale proceeds of The Golden Key will go to saving the local libraries. We need to help our community raise at least $500,000. Otherwise, sadly the libraries will close and many children will be robbed of the wonderful opportunity a trip to the library affords

One small step from each of us can carry all of us very far. We are a community and we can only do this if we do it together.

There is a web site set up at  http://pottershands.com/goldenkey.htm   The book will be available March 1st and we are currently accepting pre-orders. The book can be ordered on the website or by sending a check or money order to: The Golden Key-Save Our Libraries P.O. BOX 71 Salinas CA 93902
